Tony Glazer’s Feature Film Wins

Spirit of Independents Award at 27th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival

The 27th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival (FLIFF) recently announced the winners of the film awards. The Film Fest presented over 200 American Independent and World Cinema features, documentaries and short films during the 24-day event and Hollywood, Florida native Tony Glazer’s film, Junction won a Spirit of Independents Award .

Junction is a high octane thriller that follows four strung-out meth-addicts who discover a dark secret about the homeowners…  during a burglary… which changes the course of their lives forever. The film, which marked Tony’s debut as a feature film director, stars Tom Pelphrey, Neal Bledsoe, Harris Doran, Summer Crockett Moore, Sharon Maguire, Anthony Rapp, Matt deMatt Renies, Anthony Ruivivar, David Zayas, and Michael O'Keefe.

Screening of Tony’s film attracted a full-house to Cinema Paradiso.!  Following the film, Tony answered a slew of provocative questions from audience members, after which his parents, Drs. Ira and Marietta Glazer hosted a Cast Party.  Many of the cast had flown in from around the country.

“We were so overwhelmed by the turnout… so many of our friends were on hand to show their support and afterwards, the e-mails we received were amazing… So many thoughtful accolades,” Marietta enthused.  Prior to the Film Fest, Gregory von Hausch e-mailed the Glazers to tell them how terrific Tony’s film was.

“Marietta & Ira… we are excited to have Tony back for FLIFF,” Greg noted.  “I think Tony is a true talent...very impressed with his direction, casting, producing...I really think he is spot on with his writing,” von Hausch added.  Last year, Tony’s short film, A Younger Man was chosen to be included in the 26th Annual Film Fest.
